5 Cleaning Hacks You Wish You Knew Sooner

There are a lot of things in your home that can be used to clean that are more effective than the products found in the superstore. Today we are bringing you back to basics and sharing 5 cleaning hacks you wish you knew sooner.

  1. Steam Clean your Microwave

Clean your microwave without scrubbing by putting a bowl of hot water inside and setting it to five minutes. It becomes a lot easier to clean and all you have to do is wipe out the microwave.

2. Use Vinegar to Remove Water Stains

Vinegar is great for many things. To get ride of water stained all you have to do is create a mixture of 50 percent vinegar and 50 percent water, apply it to the area  and let it sit for 15 minutes.  Once the vinegar solution has had time to break down the debris, use a toothbrush  or sponge to scrub the scum away, give the glass a rinse, and wipe the surface clean.

3. Clean Baseboards With Dryer Sheets

Dryer sheets are really great at removing dust. You can attach it to your broom with an elastic or do it by hand. You’ll be able to pick up all the dust while adding a fresh smell to your home.

4. Clean Windows With Newspaper

A cheap and easy way to clean your glass surfaces is with newspaper, which won’t streak or leave your surfaces covered with annoying pieces of lint. This is also a sustainable way to reuse, reduce and recycle. Say goodbye to paper towel and hello to your weekly newspaper!

5. Freshen Up Your Carpet With Baking Soda

Baking soda is another household gem that can be used for many things.  Before vacuuming it’s always best to sprinkle some baking soda and let it rest for 10-15 mins to soak up any moisture caused  humidity and any possible odours. This helps the carpet stay looking brand new and smelling fresh.

Simple and sustainable, these hack allow you to save money and maintain and pristine home.
